Who Should Use Chackett Consulting? Our clients range from the smallest of companies (only a couple employees), to the very largest companies (many thousands of employees). All our clients have Sun / Solaris (SPARC) systems in
their datacenter (or in their closet!). If you need to acquire, rack, and
install 5 Sun E4500 machines over the weekend, and you need it done right, Chackett Consulting is probably for you.
Using Chackett Consulting is Ideal When:
1. Can't afford to hire additional full-time resources but have work that can't be completed in-house.
Often our clients are very lean in term of human resources, with the existing staff being heavily taxed with current work. When a new project, such as building out a couple new servers, comes along, the existing
staff simply can't get to it in a timely manner. Chackett Consulting can come in, inventory, rack, and install the servers while the existing staff concentrates on current operations.
2. Have a temporary need for skills you don't have in-house.
Some of our clients don't use Sun or Solaris as their primary computing
platform, but for one reason or another, have one or more Sun machines in their datacenter. Since they don't have enough servers to justify a full-time human resource, Chackett Consulting is called in to perform routine systems administrations tasks such as patch installations, firmware upgrades, or operating systems upgrades.
3. Have existing staff who are fully utilized and have no bandwidth left for additional tasks and projects.
